breakthrough
ok, so yesterday, after what seemed like forever, i finally shot something decent at aiea and theyre incredibly confusing oil pattern. although for some a 244 may not seem like a big deal, it was for me because i had not shot that high at aiea since like months ago, when i shot a 257. but, that's how challenging the oil pattern at aiea is. lets put this in comparison. during this past winter travels season, which includes bowling at places such as schofield, pali, fort shafter, hickam, naval station, and leeward, i managed to uphold a 203 average. by comparision, at aiea, where the oil pattern and location is the same, i only averaged 193 this past winter season. odd, huh?

And it draws ever so closer
So today was the end of our winter season (thank god, if it kept going my 193 average might not survive...) with it, comes many different facts. Ronson's team won first(how he survived the season with such a bossy girl is beyond me), Ronson won high series(with a 709 series, which he didnt shoot until like the 22nd week), and I won high average(with a 193....how sad...). For me, it means a lot more. For me, it means that I only have a summer left until my time as a junior bowler is over. It's kind of a surreal feeling. I've been a junior bowler for about 12 years now(hmmm 20-8=12...yeah thats correct....geez im old), so it's kinda hard to fathom that come this September, it all comes to an end. Well, I guess it's for the best. As I think about it, there's not much more I can gain in junior bowling(although id like to bowl jr gold next year, cause it's in VEGAS!!!! seriously, why not this year?!?!). Hopefully, everything I learned in junior bowling will transfer to the next step in my bowling career, and hopefully it leads to some very good fortune.
Oh Shark, how I loathe thee....
Alright, you'd figure after weeks of bowling on a modified shark pattern, I'd be showing some improvement in terms of scores. Well, today was just a case of moving backwards not forwards. Today was, well, HORRIBLE. Of course the way I started out says differently. After throwing a Hambone (four strikes in a row for those not following), I'd thought I'd shoot pretty well the first game. Then, window. 9 Spare. Window. Uh oh, things starting to head downhill. I managed to throw a double to save myself somewhat, and I began thinking, "Well, at least I'll shoot 200." Big mistake. I ended up missing a 7 pin(just one of many I would miss), and ended up with a mediocre 196 game, and a lot of flak from my mom. Next game, not any better. Two more missed 7 pins, plus a missed 3 pin(seriously how do I miss that one????) and I end up with a 163. How bad was that second game? Well, my buddy Kohei Somera, who's about 9 years younger than I, shot a 216, easily kicking my a##. Pretty sad, yah? After I finished crying (I kid.....maybe), I reset myself and was ready to kick a## the third game. Once again, my brain fooled me. After starting of with 3 spares and a double, I felt like I had some hope. HAHAHAHAHA. My ineptitude at spare shooting today continued, as I missed a 10 pin, and another 7 pin (my 4th one today if you're keeping count). So, I ended that game with a 181, and ended up with a 540 series. Oh shark how I loathe thee......
